A History Worth Brewing
Long before the world fell in love with Colombian and Ethiopian coffee, Guyana was producing some of the finest beans in South America.
In the 1700s, coffee was a major export of Guyana, flourishing in the country’s fertile lands.
Over time, sugarcane and other cash crops took priority, leading to a decline in coffee production.
Unlike other coffee-growing regions, Guyana’s coffee remained a hidden gem, known only to locals and those lucky enough to experience it.
Today, Baksh Coffee Co. is part of a new wave of revival, ensuring that Guyana reclaims its place in the world of specialty coffee.
